Open Position: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Compact License Required

Schedule: PRN/Part-Time Position-Virtual position

Are you a compassionate Psych RN with a compact license, ready to make a real difference on a flexible schedule? Join our team and deliver essential mental health care to individuals in a county jail setting. This PRN/part-time role offers a unique and meaningful opportunity to support people during a pivotal time in their lives.

What You'll Do

• Assess inmates’ mental health needs through clinical interviews and standardized tools, both at intake and throughout their stay.
• Develop and manage tailored treatment plans, aiming to stabilize patients and equip them with skills for re-entry into the community.
• Provide one-on-one and group counseling, addressing issues like substance use, trauma, anger management, and coping strategies.
• Work closely with correctional staff, medical teams, and probation officers to ensure holistic care.
• Help connect individuals to ongoing support inside the facility and in the community after release.
• Keep thorough, accurate records of assessments, sessions, and treatment progress.
• Stay informed on best practices in correctional mental health and pursue ongoing professional growth.
  
  

Who We're Looking For

• Registered Nurse with a compact license and at least 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing.
• Experience with a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses, including substance use, personality disorders, and psychosis.
• Previous correctional health experience is a plus, but not required.
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to communicate well and build trust with diverse populations.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment, with a commitment to cultural competence.

• Must pass a background check and comply with all security protocols.
• Must be able to work assigned shifts.
