Healthy Start of Hardee, Highlands, & Polk seeks a TPPA Coordinator to oversee the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Alliance program deliverables and ensure at least 500 students are served annually.   • Training in Adolescent Health Education preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy, tact, confidentiality, and empathy in communications.
  • Independent worker capable of team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of Office 365, Canva, and budgets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and client engagement skills.
  • Knowledge about local communities desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a positive image of the Coalition and the TPPA Program.
  • Provide at least 3 presentations or community outreach events quarterly.
  • Increase community knowledge on teen pregnancy and STI rates via surveys.
  • Collaborate with community partners serving youth (10-19) for TPPA program development.
  • Ensure program stability and growth through yearly evaluation and capacity building.
  • Coordinate development and implementation of evidence-based lesson plans and workshops.
  • Implement quality assurance evaluations of contract requirements (e.g., Teen Summit, TOP classes).
  • Work with partner organizations to implement curricula and activities in the local area.
  • Increase Polk County youth participation in TPPA activities; document leadership involvement.
  • Expand faith-based support for teen pregnancy prevention activities; secure commitments.
  • Prepare, monitor, and submit program budgets to meet contract requirements.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The focus of this position is to oversee the implementation and evaluation of the TPPA program deliverables and to ensure, at minimum, 500 students a year are served. The TPPA Coordinator will serve as the liaison between teens, families, and community stakeholders to promote healthy choices and decrease risky behaviors.

Job Goal:

To lead, coordinate, and strengthen the Healthy Start Coalition's Teen Pregnancy Prevention Alliance (TPPA) Program by overseeing program deliverables, building strategic community partnerships, and reducing teen pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) rates in youth ages 10-19 by utilizing evidence-based practices.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate Degree (BA or BS preferred) or equivalent experience preferred in Human Relations, Health Field, Education, or Health Administration.
  • At least 3 years' experience teaching, educating, and mentoring youth.
  • Strong facilitation skills and presentation skills, preferred.
  • Knowledge of data collection software helpful.

DUTIES INCLUDE
  • Create and maintain a positive image of the Coalition and the TPPA Program
  • Serve as an educational and programmatic advocate and resource on adolescent health, pregnancy prevention, and making healthy choices by providing a minimum 3 presentations or community outreach events quarterly.
  • Increase the level of knowledge about local teen pregnancy and STI rates among the community at large as evidenced through survey results.
  • Collaborate with community partners, who work with the teen population (10-19), to ensure a collective impact on the development of the TPPA Program through community meetings, training(s), and activities.
  • Ensure program stability and growth through yearly evaluation, sustainability, and increase program capacity
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of evidence-based lesson plans and workshops.
  • Implement quality assurance evaluation of the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Alliance contract requirements including, but not limited to Teen Summit, Faith Event(s), Let's Talk Workshops, TOP Classes, Educational Classes, etc.
  • Work with Wyman and Heartland for Children to implement selected curricula and/or activities in the local area to include Teen Outreach Program (TOP) classes.
  • Increase the role of Polk County youth in planning and participating in TPPA activities as evidenced by youth leadership team membership, documents, and records.
  • Increase the number of faith-based organizations that sponsor teen pregnancy prevention and STI intervention activities and pledge support through faith leader's commitment document.
  • Prepare, monitor, and submit documentation including program budgets to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
