Description

Mission: Seton Home works to break the cycle of abuse and poverty by providing a caring home, education, and support services necessary to transform the lives of pregnant and parenting teen mothers and their children.

Summary:

The Teen Parent Transporter is primarily responsible for providing transportation and direct supervision to the residents residing at Seton Home. Remaining in ratio and maintaining compliance with TDFPS Minimum Standards and other contracted agencies. Pick up supplies, groceries and other items as directed by supervisor. Copy, file, and complete other minor administrative support tasks as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • *Transport residents to and from school, appointments, etc.;
  • *Complete daily progress notes, incident reports, activity logs, hygiene/need requests, search reports, etc. while in ratio and supervising residents daily;
  • Abide by TDFPS Minimum Standards and other required agency policies;
  • Document direct client interaction services via database;
  • Pick-up needed shelter supplies and groceries as assigned by supervisor
  • *Complete and maintain agency vehicle check lists monthly;
  • Maintain and audit agency vehicle binder(s) bi-weekly and upload and store documentation in the appropriate shared file;
  • Oversee and insure that all documentation for transportation is maintained by all staff;
  • Responsible for the up-keeping of agency vehicles, monthly at minimum;
  • Ensure that all agency vehicles are fueled weekly;
  • Complete all documentation in compliance with Seton Home policies and procedures;
  • *Document and report to supervisor all serious incidents completely, accurately and in a timely manner to include vehicle accident reports;
  • Transporter will report to work in a timely manner as assigned and scheduled;
  • Transporter must be able to follow instructions, directions, and other communications well;
  • Transporter will perform other duties as directed;
  • Document and report using Extended Reach database

· Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.

· As a Seton Home employee, attendance and successful completion of New Employee Orientation and Training is mandated for the position. The inability to meet this requirement will conclude employment with the Agency.

  • Other duties as assigned by Program Director or Vice President.

At Seton Home’s sole discretion, and with or without notice, Seton Home may require employees to alter their work schedules to fulfill job responsibilities or handle work situations of an emergency nature. Likewise, at Seton Home’s sole discretion, and with written approval of the Department Head of Human Resources and Executive Director, employees may arrange an alternate or flexible work schedule, provided Seton Home needs can be fully met under such an arrangement.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education
    • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent;
    • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 1-year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting;
  • License and Credentials
    • Reliable transportation;
    • Valid driver license;
    • Valid vehicle insurance;

· Must provide immunization/shot records;

· Submit to a state and federal background check, Child abuse and neglect registry check, and Tuberculosis screening;

  • Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

· Minimum of 1-year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting;

  • Some knowledge of computer software, familiarity with or ability to utilize Extended Reach database and MS Office (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive);
  • Ability to set and teach trauma informed care practices;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Knowledge of human behavior and development preferred;
  • Successful completion and implementation of SAMA;
  • Possess sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics;
  • Ability to establish a respectful relationship with persons served in order to help them gain skills and confidence;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals;
  • Capacity to maintain a helping role and to intervene appropriately in order to meet service goals;
  • Ability to function independently and in a team setting;
  • *Bilingual: Fluent in English/Spanish with regards to reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of the spoken language;

Travel Requirements:

Travel requirements for the position includes 10% local and 10% overnight.
