Job summary

Concordia University Irvine is seeking an ESL Teacher and Activity Counselor for Irvine, CA. The role combines classroom instruction with supervised excursions and campus activities for international teens and young adults.

As part of the program, you will plan engaging lessons, supervise students, and lead cultural excursions while coordinating with staff to ensure safety, progress, and a memorable learning experience. Requires US work authorization and TESOL credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in TESOL, linguistics, or English.
• ESL teaching certificate (e.g., Cambridge CELTA) or equivalent.
• Prior ESL experience teaching teenagers.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Teach English lessons following YES USA curriculum and adapt as needed.
• Be prepared to teach unplugged if needed and maintain attendance records.
• Monitor student progress and submit weekly evaluations.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development workshops.
• Assist in emergencies and report incidents to management.
