Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club LP Brown Branch in Olympia, WA is looking for a Part-Time Teen Coordinator. The role requires 12–15 hours per week with an afternoon schedule from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m., and additional hours during school breaks and summer.

Typical hours are 3:30–6:00 p.m., with additional hours available during school breaks, early-release days, and summer.**JOB SUMMARY** The Teen Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing engaging and empowering programs tailored to the unique needs of teenagers in the community. This role involves creating a positive and inclusive environment, recruiting participants through outreach efforts, providing mentorship and support, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the success of diverse programs. With a commitment to youth development principles and strong interpersonal skills, the Teen Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering personal growth and positive experiences for teens within the local community.**ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** • Oversee the planning, marketing, and delivery of educational and recreational programming for Club members. • Plan and implement programs and activities that fall under the Academic Success and Healthy Lifestyles outcome areas for Boys & Girls Club programs, which include but are not limited to, homework help, art projects, and field trips for middle/high school members. • Deliver age-appropriate programs and activities for youth in grades 6-12. Coverage for elementary programs and activities may occur on occasion. • Actively supervise areas to promote a safe and positive environment. • Maintain a positive Boys & Girls Club culture with high energy, strong teamwork, and effective collaboration with other staff. • Promote daily program participation. • Maintain productive relationships with parents, staff, and other visitors to Club. • Model positive behaviors for children and staff. • Attend branch staff meetings and mandatory monthly all-staff trainings. • Assume other tasks, assignments, and responsibilities as needed or directed.## Qualifications**QUALIFICATIONS**• High School Diploma or GED. • At least 21 years of age. • Demonstrated experience working with youth, parents/guardians and/or community partners. • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment. • Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to de-escalate problems when present, and problem-solve during day-to-day activities. • Ability to work in a busy, high-energy, kid-centric environment. • Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications (course available upon hire). • Must pass local and national background check and pre-employment drug screening (in accordance with RCW 49.44.240).**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** • Valid driver’s license • Combined experience and/or formal training, where: o Formal training and/or experience teaching youth while creating engaging learning experiences. o Experience working with youth and knowledge of youth development. o Boys & Girls Club experience • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English, allowing for effective communication with Spanish-speaking clients, partners, and team members.
