The general function of the Teen Camp Site Director is to manage the daily operations of teen specialty summer programs including but not limited to developing presentation materials, recruiting teen participants, presenting to local community organizations, supervising camp staff, managing accounts receivable, and planning teen service projects.
If you are an energetic and inspirational leader that enjoys working with teens and leading staff, come and be a part of the YMCA Teen Specialty Camps as a Site Director this summer. They oversee the day-to-day operation of teen camp, teen staffing, teen program quality, policy and procedures, and minimum standards. Candidates must maintain staff/participant ratios, foresee and manage potential safety concerns, and maintain control of group activities at all times. Help develop program curriculum in compliance with licensing and grant funding. Plan and facilitate teen camp activities, field trips, and special events while mentoring teens. Plan and supervise service projects while incorporating teens' input. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for this position include a basic knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, good phone etiquette, and interpersonal skills. He/She must qualify to be a licensed on-site Camp Director under TDSHS minimum standards. A minimum of 21 years of age with 2 years of leadership responsibilities is required. This position requires the ability to stand for long periods, adjust from sitting to standing with ease, and the ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs.
Requirements also include attending/leading training May 17-18, and other required trainings as outlined by supervisor.
