Neighborhood Veterinary Center is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dependable Veterinary Technician to join our growing team at our Hallandale Beach hospital. This full-time role supports veterinarians with surgical and dental procedures and patient care throughout the shift.

You will work with modern equipment, including digital radiography and in-house labs, and participate in a team that values critical thinking, clear communication, and compassionate client service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of veterinary technician experience required.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary patient care, vaccines, medications, and animal handling.
• Experience with blood draws and IV catheter placement.
• Surgical and anesthesia-monitoring experience preferred.
• Comfortable safely handling both dogs and cats.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain thorough patient histories from pet owners.
• Perform and accurately document TPRs and other vital signs.
• Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats.
• Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples.
• Place and maintain IV catheters.
• Prepare and process laboratory samples.
• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Prepare patients and equipment for surgical and dental procedures.
• Assist during surgery and monitor patients under anesthesia.
• Monitor and provide appropriate care to patients during recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
• Review medication and at-home care instructions with clients.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with pet owners.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment and patient-care areas.
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, reception, and other support staff.

Position Summary:

The Veterinary Technician works closely with our veterinarians and support team to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.

This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to remain organized in a busy veterinary environment.
