Charlie\'s Complete Auto Service in New Jersey is seeking an experienced General Service / Automotive Technician to perform routine maintenance, DVIs, and basic repairs. The role emphasizes quality workmanship, precise documentation, and high safety standards.

The position is not entry-level and requires hands-on shop experience. We offer a four-day workweek with no weekends, competitive hourly pay, and benefits including health, dental, and vision, plus a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional automotive repair; 1–2 years preferred.
• Ability to independently perform routine maintenance and general service repairs.
• Experience with brake repairs, tire services, and wheel alignments preferred.
• Own basic automotive tools; specialty equipment provided.
• Valid driver\'s license required.
• ASE certifications preferred but not required.
• Tekmetric or similar software experience a plus.
• Dependable and detail-oriented with thorough inspection skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough DVIs with photos, notes, and documentation of maintenance and safety concerns.
• Perform oil changes and preventive maintenance services.
• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires.
• Perform wheel alignments.
• Inspect and replace brake pads, rotors, and related components.
• Perform basic mechanical repairs (batteries, filters, belts).
• Identify and document recommended repairs and maintenance needs.
• Communicate inspection findings clearly to service advisors.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.

Charlie's Complete Auto Service is an independent, family-owned and operated automotive repair shop proudly serving the South Jersey community for over 22 years.

We are looking for an experienced and dependable General Service / C-Level Automotive Technician to join our team. We offer a professional work environment, modern equipment, competitive hourly pay, and a four-day workweek with no weekends.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate has previous professional automotive repair experience and is comfortable independently performing routine maintenance, thorough vehicle inspections, and basic mechanical repairs.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, pays close attention to detail, and understands the importance of accurately identifying and documenting vehicle maintenance and repair needs.

This is not an entry-level position. Previous hands-on experience in a professional automotive repair shop is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs), including photographs, detailed notes, and accurate documentation of maintenance and safety concerns.
• Perform oil changes and preventive maintenance services.
• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires.
• Perform wheel alignments.

• Experience with Tekmetric or similar shop management software is a plus.
• Dependable, organized, and committed to quality workmanship.

Compensation & Benefits

• $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated abilities.
• Guaranteed hourly pay — not flat rate.
