JOB SUMMARY

The Technology Teacher for grades 3–5 is responsible for designing and delivering engaging instruction that builds students’ digital literacy, problem‑solving, and 21st‑century technology skills. This educator fosters creativity, collaboration, and responsible use of technology while integrating STEM concepts to support the district’s academic goals. The Technology Teacher collaborates with classroom teachers and staff to enhance student learning through technology, preparing students to be confident, ethical, and innovative users of digital tools.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must hold or be eligible to receive a valid teaching certification in Elementary Education, Technology Education, or Instructional Technology (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience teaching technology or STEM‑related subjects at the elementary level is preferred.
  • Knowledge of current educational technology, digital tools, and instructional software.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage young learners.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering digital citizenship and safe technology practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and deliver technology‑focused lessons that align with district curriculum and state standards for grades 3–5.
  • Teach digital literacy, keyboarding, research skills, coding basics, online safety, and responsible digital citizenship.
  • Introduce students to productivity tools, multimedia applications, and emerging technologies.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and skill levels of students.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate technology into core subject areas.
  • Create a classroom environment that promotes inquiry, creativity, and problem‑solving.
  • Assess student progress using a variety of tools and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Manage and maintain technology equipment, ensuring students use devices safely and responsibly.
  • Stay current with educational technology trends and recommend innovative practices.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student learning and program initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development, school events, and committees as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
