Job description

General Description

This position is for the 2026-27 school year. The teacher plans, delivers, and evaluates instruction based on specific standards and objectives established by CCPS. The teacher assists students in studying technological resources through problem-solving processes and hands-on activities to develop knowledge and skills that contribute to students becoming mature, able, and responsible citizens.

Essential Job Functions
  • Plan and deliver appropriate curriculum content to students.
  • Provide students the opportunity to participate in the Technology Student Organization.
  • Plan, teach, and assess instruction.
  • Assess student learning on an ongoing basis and alter instruction to meet group or individual needs.
  • Use the district curriculum to plan daily instructional activities.
  • Maintain order within the classroom in accordance with division guidelines for student behavior management.
  • Supervise students in non-classroom time, including before school, after school, student activities, and fire drills.
  • Collaborate with other faculty in planning and delivering instruction.
  • Communicate regularly with parents.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and guidelines related to public schools.
  • Demonstrate commitment to improving professional competence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Responsibilities
  • Operate classroom equipment such as computer, LCD, and other course-related equipment.
  • Comply with established work directions and decision-making responsibilities, performing the majority of functions independently.
Physical Demands

Perform duties that involve lifting, supporting, handling objects, and using hands and arms. The employee will stand, walk, sit, occasionally climb or balance, and stoop or kneel. Visual acuity for close and distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment are required. The work environment is a public school with moderate noise levels.

Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of instructional concepts, principles, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of academic curriculum for assigned classes.
  • Ability to develop instructional goals, design and deliver instruction, and assess student learning.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Decision-making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal and planning skills.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in Technology Education and be well versed in STEM education.
Additional Job Requirements
  • Successfully complete FBI Criminal History Investigation, State Police Criminal History Investigation, CPS Investigation, and Tuberculosis Screening/Test.
Compensation & Hours

Salary: $55,046.62 - $83,594.34 per year.

Hours per day: 8 days per year (200 days) – standard full-time schedule.
