Position Overview

Telcom is seeking a motivated Technology Systems Apprentice to work directly with our senior technician who specializes in telephony, intercom, and camera systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technology, learning new systems, and building a career in the low-voltage and communications industry.

The apprentice will assist with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of communication and security systems while learning the technical skills required to become an independent technician. This is a hands-on position that provides structured training and real-world experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of telephony systems, intercom systems, and security camera systems
• Support structured cabling installations including Cat6 and fiber infrastructure
• Help mount and configure cameras, intercom stations, network equipment, and associated hardware
• Assist with troubleshooting system issues and performing service calls
• Learn to read project drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation
• Maintain tools, materials, and organized job sites
• Follow company safety procedures and installation standards
• Communicate professionally with customers and team members on job sites
