Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a Hourly Technology Support Technician to assist AV, wiring, and computer repair specialists. You will install, maintain, and repair a wide range of technology systems in a school setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. You will work 29 hours per week at the I.S. Support Center, collaborating with educators and district personnel to ensure reliable tech environments.

Job Summary

The Hourly Technology Support Technician is responsible for assisting audio-visual, wiring, and computer repair specialists by completing assigned tasks, including but not limited to, installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of technology systems including audio-visual equipment, computer hardware, peripherals, and network infrastructure.

Essential Functions

  • Provides support in installing, maintaining, and repairing AV systems, computer hardware, peripherals, and network cabling (LAN/WAN).
  • Assists in preventive maintenance and upgrades to electronic and computer equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Maintains accurate records of work orders, time, materials, and inventory.
  • Collaborates with other trades and departments to complete projects.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards and building codes.

Required Education and Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires a current driver's license.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, AV devices, and computer hardware.
  • Must know and understand the workings of a variety of equipment (Chromebooks, Windows PCs, Macintosh, iPads, iPods etc.).
  • Must be able to work with a variety of peripherals (CD ROMs, RAM, plotters, external disk drives, mice, printers, SMART Boards, UPSs etc.).
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook for communication, especially email and calendaring.
  • Requires strong organizational skills in prioritizing work requests and meeting the immediate needs of the educator in the classroom.

  • Collaborates and interacts positively with students, educators, administrators, vendors, and other district personnel.
