Sallie Mae is seeking a Technology Operations Engineer I to support and optimize our technology systems and infrastructure. You will assist in implementing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, networks, and telecom components to keep services reliable for students and staff.
You will respond to incidents and service requests with timely technical support, participate in projects, and help create documentation and procedures that ensure secure, consistent operations.

The Technology Operations Engineer I will be responsible for supporting in maintaining and optimizing our technology systems and infrastructure.
Assist in the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of technology systems, including hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications.
Respond to technology-related incidents and service requests, providing timely and effective technical support to end‑users.
Participate in technology projects, assisting with tasks such as testing, documentation, and user training.
Contribute to the development and enforcement of technology operations procedures and guidelines to ensure consistent and secure operations.
Assist in the management of technology inventory, including procurement, asset tracking, and license management.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.

Indicate minimum education, skills and experience required.
Solid understanding of technology infrastructure components, including hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications systems.
Familiarity with ITIL framework and basic IT service management principles.
Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot technology issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and end‑users.
Detail‑oriented mindset with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Basic knowledge of project management concepts and practices is a plus.
Indicate “nice‑to‑have” regarding education, skills, and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
1‑2 years of experience in technology operations, technical support, or a related field.
