  • Provide Tier I technical support for classroom AV and simulation systems; escalate issues as needed.
  • Support Clinical Learning Center technology including simulators and recording systems.
  • Program and test simulation scenarios for OSCEs and assessments.
  • Coordinate maintenance, updates, calibration, vendor communication, and warranty services for equipment.
  • Provide tech support for educational software, assessment platforms, and LMS used by the program.
  • Coordinate technology for electronic examinations and post-exam support.

Job Summary

The Technology Support Coordinator supports the technologyand simulation needs of the Physician Assistant (PA) StudiesProgram at the downtown instructional site. The Coordinator servesas the primary technology and simulation resource for the programby supporting instructional technologies, simulation-basededucation, educational software, classroom technologies,standardized patient activities, and technology initiatives thatenhance student learning and program effectiveness. Responsibilities include providing intermediate technical hardwareand software support through the set-up, testing, installation,maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of departmental physicaland virtual endpoint systems supported by Information Technologyand Analytics. The Coordinator also manages technology-relatedactivities within the Clinical Learning Center (CLC), includingprogramming simulation scenarios, maintaining patient simulatorsand simulation equipment, coordinating audiovisual systems, andsupporting faculty, staff, learners, and standardized patientsduring simulation-based educational activities. The Coordinator reports to the PA Program Director and collaboratesclosely with Information Technology and Analytics, faculty, staff,and other academic programs on technology and simulationinitiatives. This is a two-year position with the possibility ofextension.

Essential Duties
  • Maintain current knowledge of the computer systems, endpointdevices (physical and virtual workstations, laptops, and mobiledevices), software applications, audiovisual technologies,networks, and computing environments supported by Ithaca CollegeInformation Technology and Analytics.
  • Coordinate with Information Technology and Analytics regardingoffice, classroom, audiovisual, and instructional technology needswhile monitoring emerging technologies to ensure the programutilizes current and effective educational technologies.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and provide Tier I technicalsupport for classroom audiovisual systems, instructionaltechnology, simulation equipment, and control room technology.Escalate, monitor, and document unresolved issues asappropriate.
  • Support all Clinical Learning Center (CLC) technology,including high-fidelity patient simulators, task trainers,audiovisual recording systems, simulation control systems, andrelated instructional technologies.
  • Program and test simulation scenarios for instructionalactivities, Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs),competency assessments, and other simulation-based learningexperiences.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, software updates, equipmentcalibration, vendor communication, repairs, and warranty servicesfor simulation equipment and instructional technology.
  • Provide technical support for program-specific educationalsoftware, assessment platforms, clinical education managementsystems, simulation software, and other instructional technologiesutilized by the program.
  • Coordinate technology requirements for electronic examinationsand assessment activities, including system setup, deployment,troubleshooting, and post-examination support.
  • Support standardized patient activities by coordinatingsimulation technology, audiovisual recording systems, operationallogistics, and technical support during educational sessions.
  • Coordinate and provide technology training for faculty andstaff on classroom technology, simulation equipment, educationalsoftware, audiovisual systems, and other program-supportedtechnologies.
  • Develop, maintain, and update written standard operatingprocedures (SOPs), user guides, and technology documentation forsimulation equipment, classroom technology, and instructionaltechnology resources.
  • Maintain inventory records for all departmental technology,simulation equipment, software licenses, warranties, supplies, andreplacement schedules.
  • Assist with maintaining technology-related databases, useraccounts, equipment records, and digital file organization inaccordance with institutional policies.
  • Assist the PA Program with maintaining technology andsimulation resources that support compliance with ARC-PAaccreditation standards, assessment activities, and continuousquality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technology support for admissions activities,orientation, White Coat Ceremony, simulation exercises, skillslaboratories, special events, and other program-sponsorededucational activities as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies regardingsoftware licensing, data security, FERPA requirements, equipmentsecurity, and appropriate technology use.
  • Demonstrate civil, professional, and inclusive behavior wheninteracting with faculty, staff, learners, standardized patients,visitors, and community partners.
  • Promote a collaborative, flexible, and inclusive workenvironment by participating in professional development activitiesthat enhance awareness of diversity, equity, inclusion, andbelonging.
  • Perform other College and Program duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,Educational Technology, Healthcare Simulation, BiomedicalEngineering, Health Sciences, or a related field; or an equivalentcombination of education and progressively responsibleexperience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in information technology,healthcare simulation, educational technology, or a closely relatedfield.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communicationskills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solvingabilities with demonstrated experience troubleshooting complextechnical issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities whilemeeting established deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diversepopulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word,Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise soundjudgment.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and instructionaltechnology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting healthcare education or healthprofessions programs.
  • Experience with simulation technologies (e.g., Laerdal,Gaumard, CAE, SimCapture, LearningSpace, or similarplatforms).
  • Experience supporting audiovisual systems and classroomtechnologies.
  • Experience supporting electronic testing and assessmentplatforms.
  • Experience maintaining simulation equipment and coordinatingvendor-supported maintenance.
Work Environment

The work location is the Physician Assistant Program located in theRothschild Building on the downtown Ithaca Commons. Parking is notprovided; however, the location is accessible via the TCAT bussystem.

Work is performed primarily in an accessible indoor educationalenvironment using computers, audiovisual equipment, simulationtechnologies, and standard office equipment. The incumbent mayoccasionally be required to transport equipment or materialsbetween campus locations or participate in off-campus educationalactivities. Evening and weekend work may occasionally be requiredto support instructional activities, simulation events, admissionsevents, or other program needs.

This is a full-time, temporary two-year position (37.5 hours perweek, 52 weeks per year) with the possibility of extension.

Hiring Range

$27.00 - $29.00 per hour, commensurate with qualifications andexperience.
