Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading complex technology operations at enterprise scale.
• Strong technical understanding of enterprise technology services, including end user computing, networking, cloud platforms, identity and access management, collaboration technologies and enterprise monitoring.
• Experience leading large scale technology modernisation, reducing technical debt, improving cyber resilience and introducing automation and modern operating practices while maintaining stable live services.
• Strong understanding of operational cyber security, including security operations, vulnerability management, incident response and secure by design principles, with experience managing technology risk in complex environments.
• Significant experience managing strategic supplier relationships, complex commercial contracts, substantial operational budgets and large multidisciplinary technology teams.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior executives and business leaders, influencing strategic decisions and leading organisational and cultural change.
• Experience operating technology services across geographically dispersed sites and critical national infrastructure.
• Experience of product based or platform operating models within large enterprises.
• Experience working in government, regulated or other highly secure environments, including engaging effectively with Ministers, senior officials, regulators or equivalent executive stakeholders.

• Set a clear vision aligned with MoJ’s digital strategy, empowering the team to deliver secure, user-centred technology services that embrace emerging trends.
• Shape strategic direction and foster a shared sense of purpose across Justice Digital, Data and Science.
• Drive transformation of MoJ’s technology services by embracing flexible working trends, emerging technologies, and modern delivery methods.
• Manage the BAU portfolio and drive major change through the Evolve programme to bring End User Compute and Digital Infrastructure & Security Operations in-house, delivering savings and reducing debt.
• Oversee budget of over £300 million, secure additional funding through ROI and strategic benefits, and manage supplier performance and risk.
• Provide expert input to ministers, agency CEOs, and senior officials ensuring technology decisions are well-informed, aligned, and impactful.
