Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a senior Linux systems professional to design, implement, and support infrastructure solutions for email routing and related services in Pennington, NJ. The role requires strong collaboration with Architecture/Engineering peers and cross-functional teams.

You will participate in 24x7 on-call rotations, manage incident response, and drive availability and performance improvements across production environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years with strong OS background with Linux systems.
• 5+ years strong scripting/development skills with Python, Perl, Shell.
• Experience with SMTP Email relaying and routing.
• Experience with Email Hygiene systems, including Anti-spam, Antivirus, Malware Prevention, and Data Loss Prevention
• Experience with monitoring technologies (SPLUNK, NAGIOS)
• Proven experience in problem identification, troubleshooting and resolution
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manages stability, resiliency, reliability, and performance of supported systems.
• Fulfills requests from business users and operations and communicates technical status updates with appropriate teams.
• Captures and translates business requirements into infrastructure and/or system design for specific implementations and collaborates with technology stakeholders, Solution Delivery Management teams, Technology Project Management teams, Solutions Engineering teams, and technical service providers for system design and deployment.
• Supports change implementations, proactively identifies potential issues resulting from the changes, and performs access and/or physical provisioning/deprovisioning for infrastructure and applications.
• Provides consulting services to CTI and technical partners, executes procedures reliably, and escalates appropriately to solve incidents quickly.
• Provides release support when needed and manages engagement across audiences.
• Provides full lifecycle management of the infrastructure and application environments.
• On-Call support responsibilities (coverage nights & weekends)
• Executes processes in support of the IT infrastructure and resources required to plan for, develop, deliver and support IT services and products to meet the needs of a business within required SLAs.
• Manage and support Email Routing infrastructure applications on a day to day basis.
• Installs, configures and troubleshoots Applications used to support Email Routing Infrastructure.
• Monitor, measure, report and review current performance of application services and ensure availability and capacity meet business demand.

This job is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of infrastructure solutions to meet specific deployment requirements aligned with available playbooks and technical blueprints. Key responsibilities include providing and communicating technology solutions across audiences and participating in projects and activities related to special initiatives or operations. Job expectations include leading the resolution process for problems, adhering to defined practices and policies to obtain results, and establishing input/output processes and working parameters for systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Operational support of LINUX/UNIX-based messaging systems. Primarily responsible for system availability, troubleshooting/triage for production problems. Participates in a service monitoring function with responsibilities in areas of incident and problem management. Role will contribute to product/service design, development and implementation deliverables, to include assessment and optimization of systems and review of user requirements.
• Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides technical knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor. Typically 5 or more years of Linux systems experience.
• The selected candidate would become part of the Collaboration Operations Team (Email/Routing). In addition to the daily Messaging Operations Tasks, he/she will be assigned to 24x7 on-call rotation as part of the MCS UNIX Team.

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$81,200.00 - $134,300.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
