Job summary

Truist is seeking an experienced Technology Operations professional to design, implement, and govern technical solutions across platforms and networks. You will drive reliability, security, and operational excellence while collaborating with multiple teams and vendors.

The role requires deep expertise in Java ecosystems, middleware, patching tools, and automation, with a focus on governance, incident response, and risk reduction across domains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in technology operations.
  • Advanced understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, security, compliance, and risk management.
  • Proven track record in technology governance, strategic planning, and operational excellence.
  • Strong experience with Java ecosystem and patching (Oracle Java), Middleware platforms (WebLogic, IBM WebSphere) on Linux and Windows.
  • Scripting/automation (Shell, Python, Ansible etc.) and enterprise patching tools (SCCM, BigFix) and vulnerability tools (Qualys, Tenable, etc.).
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices including setting up pipeline jobs using GitLab.

  • Delivers technology operations for assigned systems or services, independently to meet performance, availability, reliability, and security targets.
  • Owns and executes defined processes within the area of responsibility, contributing to governance patterns and runbooks to reduce risk and improve operations.
  • Leads components of larger initiatives by planning, designing, and implementing technical solutions and coordinating tasks for junior staff.
  • Analyzes tools and processes, evaluates automation opportunities, and implements changes to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Provides technical guidance and coaching through design/code reviews, troubleshooting, and sharing best practices.
  • Translates requirements into practical implementation plans and recommends enhancements to products, services, or practices.
  • Collaborates with vendors and adjacent teams for integration and alignment with architectural standards.
  • Monitors operational metrics and logs to identify issues and drive continuous improvement in service performance.
  • Acts as technical contact point for vendors and teams on assigned solutions and integration choices.
  • May perform incident response and contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.

Implements technology operations for assigned domains to achieve operational targets and maintain production stability, scalability, and security across relevant platforms, infrastructure, systems, and networks. Works independently to design, implement, and govern technical solutions within the job area, developing and refining approaches through deep analysis and collaboration, contributing to technical roadmaps and goals, and driving improvements that align with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Delivers technology operations for assigned systems or services, working independently under general supervision to meet targets for performance, availability, reliability, and security.
  • Owns and executes defined processes within the area of responsibility, contributing to the development and maintenance of technology standards, runbooks, and governance patterns, and applying them consistently to reduce risk, support compliance, and improve daytoday operations.
  • Leads components of larger initiatives or moderately complex efforts within the job area by planning, designing, and implementing technical solutions and operational improvements, collaborating with other teams and, where appropriate, coordinating tasks for lowerlevel technical professionals.
  • Demonstrates innovative thinking by analyzing current tools and processes, evaluating emerging technologies, automation, and optimization techniques, and implementing changes that improve efficiency, reliability, or supportability for owned services.
  • Provides technical guidance and informal coaching to teammates by participating in design and code reviews, assisting with complex troubleshooting, and sharing best practices, patterns, and documentation.
  • Translates technical and business requirements into practical implementation plans, offering recommendations that support enhancements to products, services, or operational practices.
  • Collaborates with vendors, partners, and adjacent teams to support integration, solution design, and adherence to operational and architectural expectations.
  • Monitors and analyzes operational metrics, logs, and observability data for owned services, using deep analysis to identify issues, propose remediation options, and drive continuous improvement activities that materially affect jobarea performance.
  • Serves as a technical contact point for vendors, partners, and adjacent teams on assigned solutions or services, collaborating on design and integration choices and helping ensure they align with established operational and architectural expectations.
  • May perform incident response for medium‑to‑high priority issues, including identification, triage, troubleshooting, and restoration, while collaborating across teams to diagnose root causes and implement long‑term fixes.
  • Contributes to the design and maintenance of incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures for the assigned domain, and may lead technical investigation and resolution for significant incidents within area of responsibility.

  • Working knowledge on scripting/automation (Shell, Python, Ansible etc.) and enterprise patching tools (e.g., SCCM, BigFix) and vulnerability tools (Qualys, Tenable, etc.)
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices including setting up pipeline jobs using tools like GitLab
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CCIE, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with multi-cloud environments, automation frameworks, and infrastructure as code.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, DevOps, Agile methodologies, and enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Strong experience in vulnerability management and security program governance
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure, middleware, and application security
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and large-scale remediation programs
