Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of intellectual property law, particularly patent law.
• Adept at drafting contracts and term sheets, evaluating early stage technologies, and managing patent budgets.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, negotiation and writing skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn applicable business systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of patent prosecution for UCSB's portfolio of inventions.
• Monitor licensing agreements and licensee compliance.
• Perform complex data analysis related to technology transfer and licensing.
• Negotiate, draft, and oversee licensing agreements for technologies.
• Oversee a substantial portion of UCSB's technology portfolio, including evaluation and protection costs.
