Job summary

The Licensing Officer at The Ohio State University will cultivate strong relationships with faculty and staff innovators in the College of Engineering, guiding technology licensing and commercialization efforts. You will work with the Licensing and IP Management team to identify commercial opportunities and contribute to deal execution.

Ideal candidates have engineering or sciences backgrounds, a track record in licensing concepts, and experience in negotiating licenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4 years of relevant experience.
• Preliminary knowledge proficiency in licensing and intellectual property principles.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and sustain deep relationships with university faculty and staff creators.
• Prepare non-confidential summaries for marketing purposes.
• Support the development and implementation of marketing strategies for innovations.
• Participate in negotiation of license and option agreements with new and existing partners.
