Based in our La Vista area office, this internship offers exposure to data engineering workflows, ETL/ELT design, data movement, and collaboration with agile IT teams to deliver real-time

Qualifications

• Awareness of database environments (MSSQLServer, Teradata, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, Snowflake).
• Awareness of distributed systems and big data storage formats (DataLake, HDFS, Spark, ORC, Avro, Parquet).
• Passion for data analysis.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Desire to stay current with emerging technologies in the Data Engineering space.

Responsibilities

• Create data pipelines to move data from source applications to BI Platforms (SQL Server, Teradata EDW, Data Lake, Snowflake).
• Review Data Integration (ETL/ELT) requirements and design ETL following SDLC standards.
• Extract data from various source systems (databases, files, cloud-based systems).
• Test, document, and schedule ETL integrations.
• Collaborate within an agile delivery team including product owners, project managers, and cross-functional IT members.

Location

This position will be based out of our office at 12312 Port Grace Blvd, La Vista, NE 68128. This is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Creation of data pipelines to move data from source applications to BI Platforms (SQL server, Teradata EDW, Data Lake, Snowflake).
• Review Data Integration (ETL/ELT) requirements and design ETL following design pattern standards and SDLC procedures established by Kiewit Technology Group.
• Extract data from various source systems such as database systems, file systems and cloud-based systems (e.g. API acquisition)
• Tests, Documents and Schedules the ETL Integrations.
• Plays an integral part of an agile delivery team comprising of product owners, project managers/scrum masters, cross functional IT team members including other reporting team members.

• Awareness of database environments (MSSQLServer, Teradata, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, Snowflake, etc)
• Awareness of distributed systems and big data storage formats (eg DataLake, HDFS, Spark, ORC, Avro, Parquet)
• Passion for data analysis.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Passion to keep current and adapt to emerging technologies in the Data Engineering space.
