Job summary

Garrett is seeking a Technology Integrity Master to lead risk management, maturity assessment, and knowledge management across the NPI process. You will serve as the technical authority for product integrity, balancing innovation with robust risk practices throughout Phases 1-6.

You will own governance of technology readiness, validation strategies, and escalation resolution, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure launch readiness and customer confidence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 10 years of engineering experience with electrical products in automotive or industrial environments.
  • Strong technical expertise in: Electrical motors; Power electronics/controllers; Associated software systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical risk management and product validation activities.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and experience utilizing structured methodologies such as 8D.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Lead the planning and execution of validation strategies, including simulation, component testing, and customer application validation.
  • Ensure products meet maturity, performance, and reliability requirements before launch.

Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Technology Integrity Master to lead risk management, technology maturity assessment, and knowledge management activities across our New Product Introduction (NPI) process. This role serves as the technical authority for ensuring product integrity, balancing innovation and business objectives with robust risk identification, mitigation, and validation practices.

The Technology Integrity Master will provide end-to-end leadership of NPI Phase 1-6 risk management activities, approve technology maturity and phase exit readiness, and drive continuous improvement of engineering standards and knowledge-sharing practices. This position plays a critical role in enabling successful product launches while ensuring technical excellence and customer confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive risk identification, analysis, and mitigation activities throughout the NPI lifecycle.
  • Develop and oversee risk reduction plans to address critical technical and program risks.
  • Ensure alignment with internal validation requirements and customer expectations.
  • Partner with Design & Controls teams to achieve project milestones and quality objectives.
  • Support and resolve customer escalations related to product risk and reliability concerns.

Own Technology Maturity & Validation Governance

  • Approve technology readiness levels, phase exits, and product release recommendations.
  • Assess reliability and risk at key development milestones using predictive reliability methodologies.
  • Lead the planning and execution of validation strategies, including simulation, component testing, and customer application validation.
  • Ensure products meet maturity, performance, and reliability requirements before launch.

Drive Technical Governance & Product Integrity

  • Establish and maintain standardized technical maturity assessment processes.
  • Identify validation gaps and communicate associated risks to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate design reviews and ensure lessons learned are integrated early in product development.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve launch readiness and achieve product maturity goals.
  • Own engineering knowledge management processes related to electric boosting and fuel cell technologies.
  • Continuously improve risk management methodologies through lessons learned and best-practice integration.
  • Maintain and enhance engineering standards, guidelines, checklists, and standard work processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Centers of Excellence, Product Line teams, and Application Engineering leaders to identify capability gaps and develop training solutions.
  • Coach engineers and project teams on advanced risk management and reliability practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience working with electrical products in automotive or industrial environments.
  • Strong technical expertise in:
    • Electrical motors
    • Power electronics/controllers
    • Associated software systems
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical risk management and product validation activities.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and experience utilizing structured methodologies such as 8D.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Green Belt, Black Belt, Lean Expert, or similar continuous improvement certification.
  • Deep knowledge of reliability and quality tools, including:
    • Quality Function Deployment (QFD)
    • Failure Analysis
    • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
    • P-Diagrams
    • Duty Cycle Analysis
    • Validation Planning
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training programs.
  • Knowledge of electric boosting, electrification, fuel cell, or advanced propulsion technologies.

The salary range for this role is between $124K and $201K.

*Note that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, education, training, and/or experience. In exceptional circumstances, compensation may exceed the posted salary range.
