Job description

The Technology Infrastructure / DevOps Lead is a strategic professional who stays ahead of the curve, closely following the latest trends in their field. They have proven experience and subject matter expertise within the Infrastructure / DevOps domain. This individual contributor will possess excellent communication skills, essential for negotiating internally, often at senior levels. They are adept at guiding, influencing, and persuading others, including colleagues across different departments.

The Technology Infrastructure / DevOps Lead will be responsible for effective and timely support of the critical Technology Risk & Control / Safety &Soundness items. It will cover all infrastructure and DevOps activities working with multiple support teams, architectural teams, app development teams and Infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise and Release / DevOps Environment Management:Demonstrate deep technical knowledge and expertise in Infrastructure and DevOps domain, including tools and best practices. Accountable to ensure appropriate change and release standards, technology and processes are followed to facilitate delivery for the regular program increments.
  • Change and Release Management Oversight and Alignment:Communicate and collaborate with multiple application teams to ensure alignment in strategy, build the IT release calendar and manage risks that affect release scope and schedule. Produce weekly release reporting.
  • Environment Management: Accountable for coordinating environment alignment end to end across technology platforms; governance function to ensure environments adequately represent anticipated production state for as at time of each release; creation of Deployment Plan; and coordinating execution of Deployment activities.
  • Culture of Technical Excellence:Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Stakeholder Management:Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, communicating effectively with both internal and potentially external stakeholders.
  • Resource Management:Manage and allocate resources effectively, acting as a mentor and advisor to junior analysts.
  • Strategic Decision-Making:Contribute to technical direction and strategic decisions within IT Project Leadership, directly impacting business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience:10+ years of experience in driving the DevOps processes & Environment Management for large-scale enterprise technology solutions (Java J2EE / Spring / Oracle, Webservices / REST APIs and messaging in a Containerized Kubernetes environment). Experience in CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins etc. Experience with DevOps CI / CD deployment of Docker images in Kubernetes (K8s) based Enterprise Containerized environments. automated testing tools like Selenium.
  • DevOps Domain Expertise:Proven experience and subject matter expertise within the requirements / defect management tools (like JIRA), source code management tools (like bit bucket), Change management Tools (like ServiceNow), build and Release management Tools (Jenkins, Maven), CI/ CD toolset and Production Infrastructure monitoring tools like AppDynamics. Good understanding and Experience with Infrastructure security (Single Sign-on, Certificates, JWT, IAM etc.). Experience with batch job Scheduling (Autosys JIL) etc.,
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:Proven ability to collaborate effectively with executives, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and strategic objectives.
  • Industry Knowledge and Best Practices:Working knowledge of industry practices and standards related to DevOps and Infra management. Extensive Experience in creating Project plans for complex migrations and upgrades. Infrastructure Capacity planning / monitoring / reporting. working with Infrastructure teams to have capacity provisioned timely for critical projects.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building strong client relationships.
  • Drive and Leadership Potential:Self-motivated individual with a strong drive to succeed and an eagerness to learn, grow, and progress towards a leadership role within the company.
  • Adaptability and Agility:Ability to adapt quickly to change and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required. A Master's degree is a plus.
