Position Technology Generalist I

Position Summary

The Technology Generalist I is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and continuous operation of the Bank's technology infrastructure. This position serves as the technical owner of assigned systems and works to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology services that support business operations and regulatory compliance.

The Technology Generalist I administers server environments, business applications, cloud services, cybersecurity tools, telecommunications, and technology vendors while partnering with the IT Manager on technology projects and strategic initiatives. This position also provides technical guidance to IT Systems Support Specialists on escalated issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Infrastructure Administration

• Administer Windows server environments and core technology infrastructure.
• Monitor system health, capacity, and performance.
• Perform routine system maintenance and upgrades.
• Maintain technology availability and reliability.
• Maintain Group Policy configurations.

Microsoft 365 & Identity Management

• Administer Microsoft 365 services
• Manage user accounts, permissions, licensing, and security groups.
• Configure and maintain Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory)
• Support email administration and collaboration tools.

Cybersecurity Administration

• Administer endpoint protection solutions.
• Monitor cybersecurity alerts and respond appropriately.
• Perform vulnerability remediation activities.
• Support multifactor authentication and identity security.
• Maintain cybersecurity documentation.
• Assist with technology risk assessments.

Banking Technology & Applications

• Support core banking and ancillary applications.
• Coordinate software updates and application maintenance.
• Troubleshoot system integrations.
• Work with vendors to resolve application issues.
• Support new technology implementations.

Vendor & Technology Management

• Coordinate vendor support requests.
• Assist with hardware and software procurement.
• Evaluate technology solutions and recommendations.

Business Continuity & Compliance

• Support backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Participate in business continuity testing.
• Maintain technology documentation.
• Assist with regulatory examinations and IT audits.
• Ensure compliance with Bank technology policies.

Project Participation

• Participate in technology implementation projects.
• Test new technologies before deployment.
• Recommend operational improvements.
• Assist in developing technology standards.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide technical guidance to Systems Support Specialists.
• Share knowledge and best practices.
• Assist with technical training.
• Serve as an escalation resource for complex technical issues.

Salary Range - $24.00 - $30.00

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Experience

4–6 years of progressive IT experience. Experience administering Microsoft environments. Experience with networking and infrastructure.

Financial institution experience preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Windows Server, Microsoft 365 Administration, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Group Policy, Virtualization, Endpoint security, Backup technologies, Disaster Recovery. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
