This position is primarily based within PNC's footprint, requiring regular in-office or field presence, with some responsibilities performed remotely. Additional locations may be considered. The role can be based in Pittsburgh PA, Strongsville OH, Birmingham AL, Phoenix AZ, or Dallas TX.

Job Summary

We are seeking a senior-level Windows Server System Engineer with extensive experience in Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025. You will be responsible for product ownership of the Windows Server operating system at PNC.

Responsibilities

1. Define standards for the operating system.
2. Create and maintain product roadmaps, standard guides, configuration guides, hardening guides, standard operating procedures, and documentation.
3. Develop server build templates.
4. Conceptualize, test, and provide solutions to meet business needs.
5. Participate in a weekly rotation for on-call escalations and after-hours change work.

Required Skills

• Ownership and responsibility for maintaining the Windows Server standards, security, and viability.
• Proficiency in documentation, including creating technical guides and roadmaps.
• Experience deploying servers in Azure cloud and on-premises.
• Self-motivated with strong time management skills and ability to work independently.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience managing a large environment (13,000+ Windows servers).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with Windows vulnerabilities and remediation.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Ansible automation, PowerShell scripting, IP networks, firewalls, and proxies.
• Preferred: Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
