Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a dedicated teacher to provide engaging instruction and support the learning and development of every student. Under the supervision of the school principal, you will plan lessons, monitor progress, and foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry and growth.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree in education and be eligible for a Virginia teaching license.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and delivering instruction aligned to standards.
• Ability to work with diverse students and communities.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets students' needs.
• Instruct assigned classes at designated times.
• Create a classroom environment that involves students in learning.
• Provide an instructional program to meet all students' needs.
• Prepare for classes and show evidence of preparation on request.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives.
• Set learning objectives aligned with student needs and curriculum.
• Utilize instructional methods and evaluation to motivate achievement.
• Maintain safety and protect students and property.
• Maintain accurate records and follow policies.
• Assist administration with school policies and classroom management.
• Be available to students/parents outside instructional day when needed.
• Establish relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community.
• Plan and supervise teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Assess own effectiveness and pursue professional development.
• Participate in school management and committees.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties.
