This role goes beyond traditional project management—focusing on defining delivery practices, driving adoption, and establishing consistent measurement of execution performance across the Technology organization.You will partner with Technology leadership to improve delivery discipline, transparency, and predictability by embedding standard methodologies, governance, and performance tracking frameworks across teams.Job DescriptionWhat you’ll do:Define & Standardize Delivery PracticesEstablish and maintain enterprise standards for project delivery, SDLC, governance, and lifecycle managementDevelop playbooks, templates, and toolkits to enable consistent execution across teamsDefine structured approaches for planning, milestone management, and risk controlDrive Adoption Across Technology TeamsLead efforts to embed standardized practices into day-to-day delivery executionCoach project managers and delivery teams on best practices and disciplined executionPartner with leaders to reinforce accountability and operating rhythm alignmentMeasure & Track Delivery PerformanceDefine and implement enterprise delivery KPIs (schedule adherence, milestone performance, risk trends, dependency health)Ensure consistent tracking of progress against baseline plans across all initiativesEnable portfolio-level visibility through standard dashboards and reporting frameworksIdentify systemic delivery risks and performance gaps using aggregated dataEnable Portfolio Transparency & Decision-MakingDeliver consistent, high-quality reporting on execution status, risks, and trendsSupport leadership with actionable insights to inform prioritization, planning, and resource allocationDrive Continuous ImprovementAssess delivery maturity across teams and implement improvements to increase predictability and efficiencyLeverage performance data to identify opportunities to enhance execution outcomes at scaleWhat we’re looking for:Education:Bachelor's degree in project management, computer science, or related technical field is required.Experience:7 years of relevant work experience is required.An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in project/program management, including complex technology initiativesProven experience defining or scaling delivery methodologies, PMO standards, or SDLC practicesStrong experience establishing metrics, dashboards, and performance tracking frameworksDemonstrated ability to influence across a matrixed organizationExperience in Technology PMO, Portfolio Management, or transformation environmentsExpertise in agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery approachesStrong executive communication and stakeholder engagement skillsWhat Success Looks LikeConsistent adoption of delivery practices across Technology teamsImproved on-time delivery and milestone predictabilityIncreased transparency into portfolio execution performanceReduction in delivery risks and improved execution outcomesAmerican Electric Power (On-Site)#LI-Onsite#AEPCareersAt AEP, we’re more than just an energy company — we’re a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions.
