Job summary

Southwest Airlines is seeking a Technology Attorney to drive the drafting, negotiation, and review of major corporate and technology agreements in Ohio. The role involves advising internal teams on regulatory compliance, data privacy, and security considerations, with collaboration across the Innovation Office, Store Network, and other partners.

You will analyze existing contracts to improve structure and risk, provide IP counsel, and oversee outside counsel engagements while managing multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a law degree from an accredited school.
• Bar admission required; ongoing affiliation with a bar.
• Experience in technology transactions and information-security regulations.
• Strong written and oral communication; able to work with all levels of the organization, clients, and outside counsel.
• U.S. citizenship or work authorization; no sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and review major tech and corporate agreements.
• Advise internal teams and partners on legal implications and compliance.
• Collaborate with business units to draft and arrange technology agreements.
• Analyze existing agreements to improve structure and risk.
• Provide counsel on intellectual property matters (trademarks, copyrights, licenses, trade secrets).
• Oversee outside counsel and cost-control practices.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects amid changing priorities.
