POSITION SUMMARY

The primary focus for a technology analyst on the Design Technologies team will be to support the detailers, engineers, BIM teams and other groups integral to the design project lifecycle across Southland's national footprint. This role will focus on maintaining standards, improving efficiency of existing processes, and documenting updates and changes to workflows for the teams and software that we support. This includes but is not limited to Revit project templates, the project setup process, approved Revit third-party modeling software, internal custom development, and SharePoint pages that reflect these functions. The position will require thorough attention to detail, change management skills, and an emphasis on relationship building across the organization.

What you’ll do:

Relationship Building/Management

  • Effectively build strong working relationships and communicate with internal stakeholders, including fellow AEC team members, engineers, IT, and Divisional leadership, to ensure alignment on design technology goals and strategies.
  • Involvement incommunicationswithdesigntechnologyvendors(e.g.,Autodesk,EaglePoint Software,Symetri)over contracts, custom development/requests, customer support, and vendor feedback.
  • Collaborate withinternalteamsandexternalvendorstoensure designtechnologystandardsarebeingmetandnew standards are being integrated properly.
  • Communicate withemployeesatalllevelsregardingdesigntechnologysolutionsandapplicationsupportassistance.

Workflow Optimization

  • Work closely with divisional teams, vendors, and business teams to configure settings, workflows, and features based on divisional requirements.
  • Analyze current designprocessesand workflowstoidentify areaswhere existing or custom design technology can reduce inefficiencies, improve accuracy, and increase productivity.

Technology Deployment

  • Involvement inthe end-to-end implementationof AEC design technology initiativessuchas new applications,software alignment efforts, and training across Southland.
  • Ensure all AEC design technologies processes are integrated seamlessly into ongoing projects, from initial setup to final documentation and turnover.
  • Stay informedonemergingtechnologies,evaluatetheirfeasibility,andassistinpilotprogramstotestpotentialnew tools and systems.

Change Management

  • Assist inthedevelopmentandexecutionofchangemanagementstrategyfornewdesigntechnologyrollouts,ensuring smooth adoption across design teams and minimizing disruption.
  • Involvement infeedbackloopstogatherinsightsfromdesignteamsandotheruserstocontinuouslyimprove technology adoption and refine processes.
  • Assist in the composition and implementation of both in-person and remote training programs and learning opportunities to ensure team members are proficient in using new tools and systems.

Support and Documentation

  • Provide ongoingsupporttodetailers,engineers,BIMteams,andothergroups,troubleshootingissuesandensuringthat technology is functioning as expected.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for design technologies, including SharePoint pages, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
  • Work with the DesignTechnologiesteamtodeveloptrainingmaterialsandconductin-persontrainingasneeded.
  • Monitor anddocumentprocessimprovementrequestsandimplementation.

Strategic Planning and Governance

  • Collaborate withtherest ofthe DesignTechnologiesTeamtoensurestrategicdesign technologygoalsalignwith corporate AEC and IT strategy.
  • Assist inthedevelopmentand executionofdesigntechnology strategiesthatarealignedwithSouthland'soverall business goals and divisional project needs.
  • Help ensure that design technology standards are consistent across the divisions, in accordance with enterprise standards.
  • Support scalable design technology solutions for the company’s national footprint, and their roll-out across multiple sites and regions.
  • Work withtheDesignTechnologiesandAECteamtoprioritizefeedback/prioritiesacrossSouthland.
  • Understand whereeachDivisioniswithintheregion,whichinturninformsstrategicdecisions.

  • In-depth understanding of relevantdesign technologies, technical principles,and broad knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Ability to work on complex issues.
