Job summary

Baptist in Columbus, MS seeks a Sonographer to perform imaging procedures following radiology standards to aid diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include proper technique, planning, documentation, and maintaining equipment in a safe environment.

Candidate must have ARDMS and/or RVT registration and BLS within 14 days of hire; new graduates awaiting registry are eligible. Recent experience in sonography is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered by ARDMS and/or RVT; Proof of registry within 120 days of graduation.
• BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates thorough understanding of radiologic principles and uses appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures.
• Develops and implements procedure/treatment plans following hospital protocols.
• Completes documentation to comply with hospital policies.
• Maintains equipment, rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Completes assigned goals.

Job Summary

Performs imaging procedures/treatments according to radiology practice standards in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory and utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Completes assigned goals.

Experience

• Recent experience as a Sonographer.

Education

• Registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS and/or Registered Vascular Technologist RVT or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry. Proof of registry (by primary source) must be available within 120 calendar days of graduation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 14 days of hire date.
