Job summary

Labcorp invites qualified individuals to join the Esoteric Immunoassay Department in Phoenix, AZ as a Technologist Trainee. This role offers exposure to a fast-paced lab environment, focusing on accurate testing and patient care.

You will support specimen processing, operate analytical instruments, and participate in quality control within a collaborative team. The position emphasizes careful attention to detail, team collaboration, and the ability to handle overtime and varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Experience using a Pipette preferred.
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed.
• Able to pass a color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.

This position is for The Esoteric Immunoassay Department in the Center for Esoteric Testing West.

Work schedule:

Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Required overtime

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• ASCP or AMT certification
• Experience using a Pipette
