Job summary

Baptist Oktibbeha County Hospital in the Operating Room seeks a Surgical Technician First Assistant to support perioperative care. The SFA provides intraoperative first assisting under the surgeon for patients of all ages and guides the perioperative team as needed.

Qualifications include 2 years as a Surgical Tech with current STFA certification and 1 year of Surgical First Assistant experience in a hospital setting, plus current BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technician First Assistant Program with didactic and supervised clinical practice.
• 2 years Surgical Tech experience and current STFA certification.
• 1 year of Surgical First Assistant experience in a hospital/surgical setting and documentation of proficiency.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Surgical Technician First Assistant (SFA) will support the continuity of care for Perioperative patients. The scope of practice includes intraoperative surgical first assisting. The SFA will provide intraoperative surgical care under the direct supervision of the surgeon for all ages and/or provide direction to the perioperative team where needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
