Job description

Job Summary:
Assists credentialed providers with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac and vascular laboratory. Promotes teamwork and reflects KPNW mission and philosophy. Works under direct supervision of a credentialed provider.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monitors radiation safety, completes documentation, and ensures compliance.
  • Performs quality assurance on x-ray equipment and protective gear, troubleshoots issues, and contacts vendors.
  • Assists with survey and compliance documentation for radiation safety.
  • Familiar with IVUS and Site Rite ultrasound machines, PACS image retrieval.
  • Serves as scrub assistant or monitor/recorder for cardiology and radiology studies.
  • Prepares patients for invasive procedures and assists with cardiovascular tests.
  • Records hemodynamic activity, manages hemostasis, and handles intra-aortic balloon pumps.
  • Recognizes cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms, alerts team accordingly.
  • Administers intra-coronary or intra-arterial medications under supervision.
  • Prepares sterile fields, maintains monitoring equipment, and performs life support as needed.
  • Performs point-of-care tests and educates patients about procedures.
  • On-call work with response within 30 minutes, maintains supplies, and assists with patient transport.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 12 months of recent cardiac cath lab, EP, or special procedures experience within last 3 years.
  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Licenses and certifications: RT (Washington) or Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon); relevant ARRT or CCI certifications within 12 months of hire; ACLS within 2 months; BLS within 1 month.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proof of ongoing education.
  • Customer service skills, excellent communication, ability to work independently.
  • Respond promptly to after-hours call backs.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of recent EP, interventional cardiac, or vascular lab experience.
  • Experience in angio/cath labs.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, technical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Additional certifications: RCIS, RCES, ARRT-CI, ARRT-VI, or EKG rhythm recognition.

Notes:

  • Fair share call required.

Primary Location: Oregon, Clackamas, Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center

Hours/Week: 40, Day shift, Weekdays including weekends

Work hours: 07:15 AM - 05:45 PM
