Talent Acquisition and Retention Specialist at Brewer Science

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high‑technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose‑driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Technologist in our Smart Devices department. This position will be located in Springfield, MO.

Summary:

Technologists provide technical oversight and guidance, assisting in the creation of developmental strategies to grow the business. Technologists provide continuous leadership and direction for the organization to meet the company's technological objectives and programs. The Technologists’ primary responsibilities involve research, development, and optimization of products and processes. They work closely with engineers, scientists, and production teams to ensure that products meet quality standards and are produced efficiently. They will provide industry‑wide visibility of the company’s technical process and work with potential customers and suppliers to enable and deliver on company objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and coach lower‑level engineers, researchers, and business development professionals, helping them develop their skills and grow in their roles.
  • Provide technical support leading to design wins.
  • Make recommendations for and influence the direction of technical projects and programs.
  • Provide technical guidance and project management regarding new and emerging technologies applicable to existing operations.
  • Understand the customer process and technical challenges for new designs and applications.
  • Initiate conversations with potential customers; find new opportunities, design a solution, and
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions and work with the customer intelligence team to identify new market sectors and justify new projects.
  • Demonstrate a tactical approach to problem resolution and contingency planning for objectives.
  • Perform data analysis by utilizing the data to optimize the planning of operations.
  • Collaborate and work cross‑functionally to support the business and supplier relations to ensure excellence across the organization.
  • Deliver regular and detailed reports on project status, providing expert consultation to all stakeholders to key stakeholders and senior management.
  • May represent the organization as an advisor or spokesperson on external activities.
  • Form and maintain relationships with technology and business development partners that may include consortia, academic institutions, and for‑profit corporations.
  • Work cross‑functionally to be the primary channel for the implementation of new technology; keep them up to date on customer needs and timelines and set the expectation for customer deliverables.
  • Establish working relationships with partners and collaborators that expedite technical outcomes and enhance the organization’s position in new and existing markets.
  • Contribute to quality publications, patents, trade secrets, etc., that benefit the organization’s business success and protection of intellectual property.
  • Lead the development of new products and/or improve existing products.
  • Maintain detailed records and lab notebooks of experimental procedures, results, and observations. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Contribute to the development of standard operation procedures (SOPs) and best practices.

Education & Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field and 14+ years of relevant experience or
  • Master’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience or
  • PhD and 8+ years of relevant experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
