Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health in Union City, TN seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiology equipment and perform diagnostic procedures per physician orders, following established standards and safety practices. You will select appropriate technical factors, document procedures, maintain equipment, and participate in quality improvement to ensure patient care aligns with hospital policies.

An ARRT-accredited radiography program and ARRT registration are required; BLS within 14 days of hire;

Qualifications

• Completion of an ARRT-accredited radiography program and ARRT(R) registration or pending registration.
• State licensure as required by the state.
• New graduates must obtain registry within the allowed timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods as requested by a licensed physician.
• Select and compute settings for each patient.
• Develop and implement a procedure/treatment plan.

Job Summary

Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
• Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
• Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Specifications

Education

Minimum Required

• Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry.

Preferred/Desired

• Associates degree in related field

Minimum Required

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.

Licensure

Minimum Required

• ARRT(R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. New graduate who will obtain required registry within 120 days of hire. State license as required.
