MRI Tech-Weekends–Westmont – Radiology

**Multiple positions available**

Position Highlights

• PRN, 16 Hours
• Hours: E/O Saturday and Sunday 7:30am-4:00pm. Holidays as needed.
• Location: Westmont
• Travel: Hinsdale, Oak Lawn, Lombard as needed.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of complex diagnostic MRI procedures, primarily responsible for completing diagnostic studies from start to finish under the radiologist's guidance. This includes routine MRI and MRA procedures, taking accurate patient histories, starting IVs, and administering IV contrast. Maintains a positive environment and acts as a patient liaison.

• Performs quality assurance on equipment and procedures
• Ensures MRI safety standards are met
• Checks for ferromagnetic materials outside the scan room
• Explains emergency shutdown procedures
• Demonstrates fire and safety evacuations
• Checks patient transfer equipment for safety
• Operates MRI equipment following protocols
• Completes protocolling tasks and performs examinations per MRI protocols
• Properly identifies patients with three identifiers
• Introduces self to the patient using name and role
• Explains procedures in layman's terms and addresses patient questions
• Verifies MRI screening forms and information
• Starts IV access and injects media as directed by a physician
• Selects appropriate IV site and equipment, performs venipuncture following safety guidelines
• Prepares and administers IV contrast, monitors injection, and records details
• Documents QA reports for reactions or infiltrations
• Prepares and positions patients to obtain high-quality images

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MRI program
• ARRT Registered Technologist (RT(MR)) or ARMRIT Certified Technologist
• BLS, AED, and CPR certification
• Minimum of one year MRI experience
• Physical ability to stand, bend, reach, lift 50-100 lbs., and manipulate MRI equipment
• Good eyesight and hearing for patient observation and communication
• Ability to multitask and remain composed under stress

The compensation includes a base pay range of $32.65-$49.00, influenced by skills, experience, and location. Additional incentives may apply.
