Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care in New Albany, MS is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures and contribute to high-quality patient care. You will operate imaging equipment, select appropriate settings, maintain MQSA compliance, and participate in ongoing education for the radiology team.

Requires ARRT radiography registration and BLS certification, with 6 months mammography experience preferred. Full-time on-site position.

Job description

Operates imaging equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. performs other duties as assigned, including lead responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
• Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
• Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
• Coordinates patient scheduling, assign tasks to other Mammography Technologist, and monitor the overall workflow to ensure efficient and safe patient care.
• Provide clinical instruction, train new staff, and assist in ongoing education and competency assessments for the team.
• Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues, ensuring the mammography equipment functions optimally.
• Oversee required documentation for a successful MQSA program.
• Completes assigned goals.
