Job summary

Baptist is seeking a professional Mammography Technologist to perform imaging procedures and support MQSA compliance in our radiology department. You will coordinate scheduling, instruct staff, and ensure equipment safety and quality across procedures.

The role requires ARRT radiography certification, BLS within 14 days of hire, and state licensure as applicable, with a focus on patient-centered care and adherence to established protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Performs imaging procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods as requested by a licensed physician.
  • Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
  • Develop and implement a procedure/treatment plan.
  • Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established protocols/guidelines.
  • Completes documentation to comply with policies and procedures.
  • Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  • Participates in departmental performance improvement activities to monitor and improve patient care.
  • Coordinates patient scheduling, assigns tasks to other Mammography Technologists, and monitors workflow for efficient care.
  • Provide clinical instruction, train new staff, and assist in ongoing education and competency assessments.
  • Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues for optimal mammography operation.
  • Oversee required MQSA documentation.
  • Completes assigned goals.

Job description

Operates imaging equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. performs other duties as assigned, including lead responsibilities.

  • Coordinates patient scheduling, assign tasks to other Mammography Technologist, and monitor the overall workflow to ensure efficient and safe patient care.

  • Provide clinical instruction, train new staff, and assist in ongoing education and competency assessments for the team.

  • O versee quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues, ensuring the mammography equipment functions optimally.

  • Oversee required documentation for a successful MQSA program.

  • Completes assigned goals.


Specifications

Experience


  • 6 months experience in mammography.


Education


  • Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.

  • Associates degree in related field


Special Skills


  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work


Licensure


  • Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry in Radiography ARRT (M); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. State license as required.
