Job summary

Jobtailor in Naperville, IL is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform procedures, adhere to department protocols, and support patient care with a focus on safety and quality. Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • Mammography experience preferred but not required.
  • Stereotactic biopsy experience a plus.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with advanced certification in Mammography is required.
  • Active ARRT certification status maintained by fulfilling continuing education requirements.
  • Illinois State Licensure (IEMA).
  • CPR Certification.
  • Knowledge of computer-based applications, email and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge and skills of a mammography technologist.
  • Ability to perform daily technologist tasks and duties, including patient care and completion of clinical exams.

  • Corroborate patients' clinical history with procedures and document information according to department standards.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, provide instructions, obtain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Select and operate breast imaging equipment and associated devices.
  • Position patients and equipment to demonstrate the anatomic area of interest.
  • Explain the need for breast compression while respecting patient comfort.
  • Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
  • Assist with stereotactic biopsies, or complete training to do so.
  • Participate in staff meetings with employee involvement.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, physicians, and healthcare team members.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
  • Maintain adequate department supply levels.
