Job summary

Labcorp in Lakewood, CO seeks a Technologist for a weekend Casual/PRN position. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform testing per SOPs, monitor instruments, and ensure quality results. The role requires a lab science degree and/or MLS, plus relevant experience or certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical lab testing experience or MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification (preferred).
• Proficient with computers and laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong attention to detail with good communication and organization.
• Able to pass a color blindness test.
• Flexibility for overtime or different shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team in Lakewood, CO.

Work Schedule:

This is a weekend Casual/PRN position, start and end times could vary

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

• Pay Range: $25.00 - $37.00 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits:

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
