Summary Description of Job:
Under the general supervision of the manager, has technical responsibility for manufacturing, quality control or subcontractor processes which must yield acceptable product. May act as group leader for other technicians/technologists engaged in mutual technical work. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge and practices in broad areas of assignments. Makes independent decisions on problems and methods and represents the division in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work. This position is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the NFS Transportation/Waste Management (T/WM) programs are compliant with federal and state waste regulations. Responsible for safe and compliant transportation of radioactive and hazardous waste and product from NFS to sites nationwide. Specific attributes include waste characterization packaging, storage, and disposition including compliance with RCRA, TSCA, NRC, and DOT.

Ten (10) years related assignments.

Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Security Clearance.
Pay: $77,000- $116,000
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $77,000 and $116,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
