Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to responsibly install, maintain, and repair wind turbine systems with emphasis on safety and reliability. The role requires working at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities include inspections, troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with teams to meet project goals while adhering to company safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of wind turbine technician or related maintenance experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on wind turbine components including gearboxes, generators, hydraulic systems, and control systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and thoroughly.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout and fall protection procedures.
• Operate specialized tools and equipment safely and proficiently.
• Assist with commissioning and decommissioning of wind turbine units.
• Participate in training programs to stay current with wind turbine technology and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and site management regarding work status and issues.
• Work independently or as part of a team to achieve project goals and deadlines.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification in wind energy technology, electrical technology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a wind turbine technician or in a related industrial maintenance role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency with various hand and power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Comfortable working at heights (up to 300+ feet) and in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
