Job summary

Matheny Medical and Educational Center is seeking a Full-Time Wheelchair Technician in New Jersey. You will fabricate, assemble, and repair wheelchairs and related adaptive equipment under the direction of the Head Technician, and operate fabrication tools safely.

Applicants should have mechanical aptitude, and some experience with power and manual wheelchairs is preferred. The position offers competitive pay on an hourly basis, plus a benefits package and opportunities for CEU development.

Qualifications

• Must have (or exhibits) mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools.
• Must complete at least 10 hours of rehabilitation-specific CEU’s annually.
• Experience working on power and manual wheelchairs preferred.

Duties of this position include

• Fabricates, assembles, and repairs special equipment ( wheelchairs, positioning equipment) under the direction of the Head Technician.
• Operates all equipment, including but not limited to band saw, table saw, router, drill press, needed in the fabrication or maintenance of adaptive equipment in a safe and proper way.
