Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a hands-on lab specialist to support the Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE) team. You will assist engineers with test setup, assembly, and testing of development articles integrated into production, reading schematics and operating up to 10,000 psi pressures.

The role requires at least 2+ years in related fields, lab experience, and strong written/computer skills, with U.S. citizenship or equivalent for export-controlled information.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and some electronic understanding.
  • Familiarity with schematics, P&IDs, and drawings.
  • Ability to modify, assemble, and complete a test setup for testing various test articles.
  • Rebuild of valves, regulators and components.
  • Component level testing.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Stainless steel tube bending, flaring, and swaging.
  • Working with pressures up to 10,000 psi.
  • Understand various types of fittings
  • Understand various types of fasteners
  • Use of shop tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Familiar with Acceptance Test Procedures, Factory Acceptance Testing, Customer Acceptance Testing
  • Experience using and troubleshooting various sensors, pressure transducers, load cells, LVDT's, thermocouples, power supplies, flowmeters, pressure gauges, servos, servo drivers, electrical circuits, ESD, data analysis, etc.

This role is part of Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE), supporting Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows of the future, shared solutions and standards, simplicity and lower costs, and manufacturable design.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for assisting engineers and technicians with the test setup, design, assembling, testing, and implementation of development articles being integrated to production. This position require basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, soldering, helium, nitrogen, aircraft fluids, the ability to read schematics, and familiarity of AS9100.

This position will also require your dedicated commitment and attention to detail of lab processes, test articles, and maintaining a safe environment. You will also be expected to be flexible to change. We seek people who are passionate about space and possess a strong desire to continuously learn and improve.

Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $29.91 - $41.87
