Technician-Unit Support Adult Med-Surg Step-down Unit - Jay (FT Night)

Join us as a Technician-Unit Support for the Adult Med-Surg Step-down Unit - Jay (FT Night) at Indiana University Health.

Overview

This role involves providing a combination of direct patient care and unit clerical duties within the department. You will administer care to designated patients under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse and support the patient care team. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean environment, providing information and assistance to physicians, patients, families, and vendors, scheduling tests and procedures, maintaining patient records, and managing equipment and supplies. The role may also require continuous observation, including suicide prevention.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CPR certification required; may need to complete Unit Secretary training.
  • Previous acute patient care experience or successful completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA program.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, patient care procedures, infection control principles, and basic computer skills.
