Position Summary

The Technician performs mechanical services on new and used equipment in the service shop area. Responsibilities include testing, repairing, and rebuilding equipment, writing service reports, assigning time to jobs, and adhering to all safety regulations. The Technician is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness (5S) and properly caring for company-issued tools and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safety rules and maintain good housekeeping (5S) in the shop.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment in the service shop.
  • Complete all required service reports accurately and efficiently, including tracking parts and time allocation.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by understanding needs and completing repairs safely, timely, and accurately.
  • Maintain company-issued equipment and tools in good working condition.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in diesel equipment repair preferred.
  • 2+ years of mechanical experience with heavy equipment, with knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to improve work metrics proactively and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of policies and procedures.
  • Customer-focused with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with industry-specific PC and mainframe programs, MS Word, Excel, and databases.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends.
