Job summary

Hydromax USA is seeking a Water Technician Trainee in Dallas–Fort Worth, TX. This role supports valve exercise, fire hydrant maintenance, and blowoff maintenance programs, with a 3-month trainee track leading to Water Technician 1.

You’ll work outdoors in varying weather, follow safety protocols, and learn through paid training. Hourly pay ranges from $18.00 to $21.00, with weekly pay, uniforms and PPE provided, and opportunities for overtime and career advancement.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with clean record.
  • Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.
  • DOT Medical Certification as required by project locations.
  • Physically capable of field work up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing to travel, including weekends and occasional night shifts.
  • Proficient with mobile data collection applications.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately collect GPS coordinates for all assigned assets.
  • Safely operate, maintain, and clean all equipment.
  • Gather precise data from each inspection point.
  • Maintain consistent productivity and discipline throughout the workday.
  • Achieve and uphold a driving score of A-90 or above.
  • Paint, scrape, and clean fire hydrants to meet project standards.
  • Perform repairs on fire hydrants and water main valve operating nuts.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with support staff and field managers.

Crews must follow strict safety protocols and be aware of roadside hazards. Some sites may include embankments, uneven terrain, or wet conditions. Expect outdoor challenges and changing weather conditions.
