Position: Technician Trainee Per-Diem
Job Description :
Essential Responsibilities :
- Renew routine / maintenance medication requests (telephonic, fax, Patient site, E-prescription queue) for patients. Manage administrative responsibilities such as faxing, filing, mailing, and documenting the status in the medical record of non-electronically routable prescriptions.
- Respond efficiently to formulary and medication assistance program inquiries, prioritizing efforts to address needs effectively and safely.
- Assist with the BIDMC transition of care program.
- Assist with medication reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve prescription issues, communicating directly with patients to clarify directions for prescriptions.
Required Qualifications :
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Mass Registered Pharmacy Tech license preferred, or Registration Pharmacy Technician Trainee required, or Certificate/Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- 1-3 years of related work experience in Healthcare or Retail Pharmacy required.
- Knowledge of prior-authorization workflows, payer relations, prescription claims adjudication, and reimbursement procedures.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with diverse groups of professionals (physicians, nurses, administration, etc.).
- Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with prior authorizations.

Physical Nature of the Job :
Light work : Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements are sedentary, but standing or moving throughout the hospital campus is required.
