Job summary

Group 1 Automotive is hiring entry level automotive technicians at several California locations, offering paid training and a clear path to becoming certified and Master Technician. If you’re a motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for cars, we want to train you and help you advance.

You’ll perform routine maintenance and learn diagnostics on Toyota factory equipment, with a supportive team and opportunities for career growth within one of the nation’s largest automotive

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Willingness to learn and follow repair procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid services.
• Multi-point vehicle inspections and brake inspections.
• Tire installation, balancing, and repairs.
• Battery testing and replacement.
• Vehicle diagnostics using Toyota factory equipment as training progresses.
• Maintaining accurate repair documentation and a safe work area.

Entry Level Automotive Technician / Apprentice Technician

We are looking for motivated Entry Level Automotive Technicians who are eager to learn, build their skills. Responsibilities

As an Entry Level Technician, you'll work alongside experienced professionals while developing your skills performing:

• Routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid services
• Multi‑point vehicle inspections
• Brake inspections and basic brake service
• Tire installation, balancing, and repairs
• Battery testing and replacement
• Vehicle diagnostics using Toyota factory equipment (as training progresses)
• Maintaining accurate repair documentation
• Keeping a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Working as part of a collaborative, high‑performing service team
• Delivering quality workmanship that exceeds customer expectations

What We're Looking For

• Passion for the automotive industry and a desire to build a long‑term career
• Previous automotive experience, trade school education, or personal mechanical experience is a plus—but not required
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
• Positive attitude and team‑first mindset
• Dependable, punctual, and self‑motivated
