Job description

ROLE AND PURPOSE: The primary responsibilities of this role will be to perform various warehouse duties which includes filling supply orders, loading and unloading delivery trucks, performing inventory of technology assets, moving large amounts of equipment during and after normal working hours, receiving technology deliveries, maintaining organization of technology assets for all District locations, and drive trucks for deliveries when appointed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification
  • High School diploma or GED (required)
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with satisfactory driving record (required)
  • One (1) or more years of relevant work experience in a warehouse environment (preferred)
  • Experience operating a forklift and other warehouse equipment (preferred)
  • Must be willing to obtain forklift certification within 90 days of employment
Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Self-motivated/directed
  • Proficient with English language usage, both orally and written, including proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar usage
  • Proficient using productivity software such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace with a strong proficiency using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Proficient using financial, purchasing, database, and document imaging/formatting software
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent mathematical skills with strong ability to quickly calculate cost of goods and services
  • Strong ability to timely follow up on contracts, bids, quotes, and backordered items
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar specialized asset tracking software

  • Perform work orders which may require heavy lifting, bending, climbing, standing, reaching, stooping, etc.
  • Move large amounts of technology equipment during and after normal working hours
  • Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the district
  • Report to supervisor(s) to provide support and recommendations for identified issues, projects, and initiatives
  • Continually look for ways to improve processes and procedures that result in increased efficiency
  • Participate in appropriate training, in-service and workshop programs, and attend any required meetings
  • Perform knowledge transfer sessions with team members as needed
  • Perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned.

WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is constantly required to walk, lift, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch and carry moderate weight; occasional climbing; occasional lifting of heavy weight; occasional sitting; use hands for fine manipulation; handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee must maintain emotional control under stress. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must have the ability to climb ladders and use lifting equipment. The work environment is a standard warehouse setting including standard warehouse equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Typical working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Working hours may be adjusted to meet district and/or employee needs.

INSURABILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL DRIVERS
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • No more than 2 violations during previous 36 months including:
    • moving traffic violations (including no more than 1 preventable accident);
    • failure to provide proof of valid driver's license or proof of insurance;
    • equipment violations.
  • No Driving Under the Influence (DUI) for drug or alcohol.
  • No leaving scene of an accident (bodily injury or physical damage).
  • No vehicular assault, manslaughter, or homicide.
  • No operating a vehicle with suspended or revoked driver's license.
  • No reckless driving, speed contests, drag racing, or highway racing.
  • No use of a vehicle in commission of a felony.
  • No operating a vehicle without owner's permission (unauthorized use or grand theft).
  • No permitting an unlicensed person to drive.
  • No speeding more than 20 mph over the posted speed limit.
  • No history of a conviction in a commercial or personal motor vehicle.
