Job summary

FUCHS Lubricants Co. in Harvey, IL seeks a qualified lab technician to coach technicians, verify materials, and support quality control on 2nd shift.

You will work 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, use SAP, and collaborate with Operations. Competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package accompany growth in a global company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biology, or related science field required.
• 3+ years of proven laboratory testing experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills required.
• Experience using SAP computer system a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coach and train quality technicians on procedures related to testing and lab practices.
• Distribute workflow to other technicians on the shift.
• Verify quality of incoming raw materials and outgoing products; compute adjustments for conformance.
• Prepare laboratory reagents; file retain samples; enter test data into SAP; file vendor certs and material inspections.
• Communicate with Operations regarding calculations and adjustments needed for batches.
• Monitor and calibrate Quality Control equipment.
• Participate in housekeeping and routine maintenance.
• Communicate with QC Manager daily about issues and updates.

Salary

FUCHS offers competitive pay commensurate with experience in a similar position. The range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00 per hour, but actual compensation will vary depending upon a new hire's experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Work Schedule

Position availability is for 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 AM), Monday through Friday. Flexibility may be required to support production needs, including occasional overtime.

Your Responsibilities

• Coaching and training quality technicians on procedures related to testing, communication, and lab best practices.
• Distributing workflow to other technicians on the shift.
• Using established methods to verify quality of incoming raw materials and outgoing products; performing calculations to determine adjustments that may be required to ensure conformance.
• Preparing laboratory reagents; filing retain samples in appropriate holding areas; entering test data into our SAP system; filing vendor certifications, and raw material and production inspections in appropriate area.
• Communicating with Operations team regarding calculations and adjustments needed to batches.
• Monitoring and calibrating Quality Control equipment.
• Participating in general housekeeping including routine cleaning and maintenance.
• Communicating with Quality Control Manager on a daily basis regarding issues, updates, etc.
